Art in games : Pixel Art

Pixel Games:

Pixel games are most commonly known as 8-bit games. These are very early games for
consoles like the PC, Gameboy and gameboy colour, Some recent games for iphone and ipod and Atari joysticks. The pixel game type would be linked to the art movement popart, simply because of the bright colours in some games. Pokemon on the gameboy colour uses pixels and is made up of bright colours and looks rather cute, It also hardly uses any animation. An artist to link to the pixel art would be Kaiichi Tamaachi, this is because of all the bright colours that he uses in his artwork, Tanaami took to drawing from a young age, and as a junior high school student he often spent time at the studio of leading postwar cartoonist Kazushi Hara with the intention of becoming a cartoonist himself. After Hara’s sudden death, however, he turned to the pioneering field within manga of graphic novels, and went on to study to become a professional artist at Musashino Art University.
